Mibibo Cashew Farmers SACCO
Cashew nut value chain in the Mibibo/Matsangoni area of Kilifi North.
Malindi-Magarini Mango Farmers SACCO
Mango value chain in the Malindi/Magarini area.
Ganze-Kaloleni Dairy and Livestock SACCO
Dairy and livestock value chain in the Ganze/Kaloleni area.
Operating under the Kilifi County Agripreneur Model and the Ward and Value-Chain Farmer Producer Organisation programme, mobilising farmer savings and unlocking affordable credit, input financing and market linkage. Indicate your preferred Society (Cashew, Mango, Dairy and Livestock, or “Any”) in your cover letter.
Open Roles: 3 Posts Each, One Per SACCO
1. Chief Executive Officer / SACCO Manager
3 POSTS · 5+ yrs · 2 yrs management- Bachelor's in Co-operative Management, Agribusiness, Business Admin, Finance, Economics, Commerce or related (Master's, CPA(K)/ACCA, or Co-operative University of Kenya qualification an added advantage).
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience, at least 2 in management/senior supervisory role in a SACCO, agricultural co-operative, bank or MFI.
- Working understanding of Co-operative Societies Act, Sacco Societies Act, SASRA requirements and value-chain and agricultural financing models.
2. Finance and Accounts Officer (Accountant)
3 POSTS · 3+ yrs · CPA Part II min- Bachelor's or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Commerce; minimum CPA Part II (CPA(K) an added advantage).
- Minimum 3 years accounting experience, preferably in a SACCO, agricultural co-operative, bank or MFI.
- Working knowledge of SACCO and accounting software plus MS Excel; eligible for or member of ICPAK.
3. Credit and Value-Chain Finance Officer
3 POSTS · 2+ yrs · agri-lending- Bachelor's or Diploma in Banking, Finance, Agribusiness, Co-operative Management, Economics or related.
- Minimum 2 years in credit and loans administration, including input financing and seasonal or group-guaranteed agricultural lending.
- Sound credit-risk assessment, knowledge of farming seasons/harvest cycles, firm but respectful repayment engagement.
4. Welfare and Membership Officer
3 POSTS · 2+ yrs · COP an advantage- Bachelor's or Diploma in Social Work, Community Development, Agricultural Extension, Insurance, Co-operative Management, Public Health, HR or related.
- Minimum 2 years in member/welfare services, agricultural insurance, extension or community development.
- Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance (COP), or willingness to obtain it, covering crop, livestock and medical insurance administration.
5. Field / Ward Coordinator
3 POSTS · 2+ yrs field · extensive travel- Diploma in Co-operative Management, Agribusiness, Community Development, Business Admin or related (Bachelor's an added advantage).
- Minimum 2 years field and community coordination with a SACCO, agricultural co-operative, Farmer Producer Organisation or extension programme.
- Strong local knowledge of the ward and sub-county, its farmer groups, collection points and the value chain, with willingness to travel extensively.
6. ICT / MIS Officer (Part-Time / Retainer)
3 POSTS · 2+ yrs · SACCO MIS- Bachelor's or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or related.
- Minimum 2 years ICT/MIS administration, preferably in a SACCO, bank or financial institution.
- Working knowledge of SACCO management software and MIS platforms, databases and mobile-money integrations.
General requirements for all positions
- Meet the minimum academic and professional qualifications for the role.
- Able to explain savings, loans, input credit, insurance and interest clearly in Kiswahili to members with varying formal education.
- Fluency in a Mijikenda dialect (Giriama, Chonyi, Kauma, Digo or related) is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of the value chain and the seasonal cash flow of smallholder farmers, or willingness to quickly learn.
- High integrity, with a Certificate of Good Conduct, CRB clearance and (where applicable) tax compliance obtainable before confirmation.
- Willing to travel within the Society's wards, including rural farms and collection points.
